Do you live in or near West Chicago? Do you enjoy gardening? Why not join us?
If you’re interested in our club you are always welcome to come to our meetings to “check us out”. Our club is open to all gardeners. Although we meet in West Chicago, our members come from throughout the Western Suburbs.
Our meetings are informal and we use them as an opportunity to share our gardening knowledge. We have guest speakers, a monthly newsletter, and occasional field trips. Our volunteers are involved in restoring the Kruse House garden and a variety of other community projects. Membership is open to all – including men & women, and all ages. No expertise is required with our members ranging from beginners to master gardeners. Annual dues are very reasonable and more information is available below.

Meetings
We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month at the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. We start at 6:45pm with conversation, sharing time and refreshments. At 7:00 we have a brief business meeting and then a speaker at 7:15. Past presentations have included talks on Perennials, Organic Gardening, Composting, Vegetable Gardening, Vintage Roses, Garden Design, Shade Perennials and many other topics. During the summer, we try to hold a couple of events in a few of our members’ gardens. In July, we have had a cookout for our members and in November, we end our year with a Potluck. A Monthly Meeting at St. Andrew Lutheran Church
Most of our meetings are held at the St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 155 N Prince Crossing Rd, West Chicago. The church is located on NE Corner of Prince Crossing & Geneva Road. For a map to the St. Andrew Lutheran Church where we host most of our meetings you can click here.
Please note that some of our summertime meetings are held in other locations. Please check the calendar of events for the location of the next meeting. Since Thanksgiving is on the fourth Thursday in November, our November meeting is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. We do not meet in December.
There are two types of membership in our garden club: Individual and Family. Both levels include our monthly newsletter and access to all club activities. An individual membership is $20.00 per year per person and a family membership is $30 per year for two individuals who reside at the same address. – Click here for a membership form.
If you would like to become a member of the club, there are 3 options for joining:
- Print out and fill in a membership form and bring cash or a check to a monthly meeting – See our Event tab for details of our next meeting.
- Print out and fill in a membership form and mail a check to the club at PO Box 313, West Chicago, IL 60186-0313
- Pay online using our brand new online “store” at https://west-chicago-garden-club.square.site/ We recommend that you fill out a membership form and bring it to a meeting or mail it to us or scan it and email it to WestChicagoGardenClub@gmail.com. The online checkout process does not allow us to collect all of the information that the membership form includes. If you do not fill out a form, then we will assume that you want to be included on the membership roster and receive our Calling Post reminder phone calls.
