February 26 Meeting: Pruning – Don’t be Scared!
By Ruth Kyme
Our February speaker, Amy Powers, is a Garden Coach based near Chicago with a lifelong passion for gardening and nature. With a background in chemistry, IT consulting, and competitive sports, she combines science and coaching to help clients create thriving, sustainable gardens through in-person and virtual sessions. Amy is on a mission to teach everyone to get in touch with nature and learn how to manage their own landscape, from vegetables and herbs to trees and perennials.
Pruning can feel intimidating and downright scary. When should I prune? How much should I prune? What if I make a mistake? But Amy’s presentation, ‘Pruning: Don’t be Scared,’ breaks it down into clear, confidence-building guidance. Amy explains when, why, and how to prune trees, shrubs, and perennials to promote plant health, structure, and flowering.
